    Uroplus Ds Farmacologia

    Sulfametoxazol es una droga sulfonamida que inhibe la síntesis bacteriana de la dihidrofolato compitiendo con ácido para-aminobenzoico (PABA). Sulfametoxazol normalmente se administra en combinación con trimetoprim (Un inhibidor de la dihidrofolato reductasa). Los estudios han demostrado que la resistencia bacteriana se desarrolla más lentamente con la combinación de los dos fármacos que con cualquiera de trimetoprima o sulfametoxazol solo.
