A corto plazo (hasta 16 semanas) de tratamiento de la esofagitis erosiva.
Protonix I.V. Farmacologia
Pantoprazol es un benzimidazol sustituido indicado para el tratamiento a corto plazo (hasta 16 semanas) en la curación y alivio de los síntomas de la esofagitis erosiva. Pantoprazol es un inhibidor de la bomba de protones (IBP) que suprime el paso final en la producción de ácido gástrico.

Pantoprazol se absorbe bien, sino que experimenta poco metabolismo de primer paso dando lugar a una biodisponibilidad absoluta de aproximadamente 77%.

Patients should be cautioned that PROTONIX Delayed-Release Tablets should not be split, crushed or chewed. The tablets should be swallowed whole, with or without food in the stomach. Concomitant administration of antacids does not affect the absorption of pantoprazole.
