Pour le soulagement de l'anxiété, la tension et d'appréhension, également utilisé comme un anticonvulsivant pour le traitement de l'épilepsie.

N-Methylethylphenylbarbituric acid Pharmacologie

R-mephobarbital, un barbiturique, est utilisé en combinaison avec l'acétaminophène ou de l'aspirine et la caféine pour ses effets sédatifs et relaxant dans le traitement des céphalées de tension, les migraines et les douleurs. Les barbituriques agissent comme dépresseurs non sélectif de système nerveux central (SNC), capable de produire tous les niveaux de l'humeur du système nerveux central d'altération de l'excitation d'une légère sédation, l'hypnose, et un coma profond. Dans suffisamment élevé doses thérapeutiques, les barbituriques induire une anesthésie.

Environ 50% d'une dose orale de mephobarbital est absorbé par le tractus gastro-intestinal.
