Farmacologia
Mupirocina, un antibiótico producido a partir de Pseudomonas fluorescens, es estructuralmente relacionada con cualquier otro antibiótico tópico o sistémico. La mupirocina se usa para tratar infecciones causadas por Staphylococcus aureus y estreptococos beta-hemolíticos incluyendo el Streptococcus pyogenes. Este antibiótico tiene poco o nada, el potencial de resistencia cruzada con otros antibióticos.

PATIENT INFORMATION
Description

Topical antiinfectives are used to treat or prevent minor skin infections caused
by cuts or scraps. It is not effective against fungal or viral infections.

For proper use of this medicine, follow the directions on the package, unless
otherwise instructed by your doctor. First wash your hands. Next, rub the cream
or ointment evenly onto the affected area(s). You may cover the wound with a
sterile bandage if desired.
Missed Dose

If your doctor has instructed you to take this medicine regularly and you miss a
dose, take your next dose, as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next
dose, do not double up. Skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.
Storage

Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach
of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture
(not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.

See your doctor if your skin becomes red, swollen or if you skin conditions persists.
