    Per il trattamento topico di tinea pedis interdigitale nei pazienti immunocompetenti 12 anni di età e gli anziani, causata da Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes ed Epidermophyton floccosum.

    Ertaczo Farmacologia

    Sertaconazole è un imidazolo / triazolo tipo di agente antimicotico. Sertaconazole è un inibitore altamente selettivo della fungine citocromo P-450 steroli C-14 α-demetilazione attraverso l'inibizione dell'enzima citocromo P450 14α-demetilasi. Questo enzima converte lanosterol di ergosterolo, ed è necessario nella sintesi della parete cellulare fungina. La successiva perdita di steroli normale correla con l'accumulo di 14 α-metil steroli in funghi e possono essere in parte responsabile per l'attività fungistatica di fluconazolo. Demetilazione cellulari di mammifero è molto meno sensibile alla inibizione fluconazolo. Sertaconazole mostra attività in vitro contro Cryptococcus neoformans e Candida spp. Attività fungistatica è stata dimostrata anche in modelli animali normali ed immunocompromessi per fungine sistemiche e intracraniche infezioni dovute a Cryptococcus neoformans e per le infezioni sistemiche a causa di Candida albicans.

    The patient should be instructed to:
    1. Use Sertaconazole Cream, 2%, as directed by the physician. The hands should be washed after applying the medication to the affected area(s). Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, mouth and other mucous membranes. Sertaconazole Cream, 2%, is for external use only.
    2. Dry the affected area(s) thoroughly before application, if you wish to use Sertaconazole Cream, 2%, after bathing.
    3. Use the medication for the full treatment time recommended by the physician, even though symptoms may have improved. Notify the physician if there is no improvement after the end of the prescribed treatment period, or sooner, if the condition worsens.
    4. Inform the physician if the area of application shows signs of increased irritation, redness, itching, burning, blistering, swelling or oozing.
    5. Avoid the use of occlusive dressings unless otherwise directed by the physician.
    6. Do not use this medication for any disorder other than that for which it was prescribed.
