Per il sollievo di ansia, tensione e apprensione, usato anche come anticonvulsivante nel trattamento dell'epilessia.

Methylphenylbarbituric acid Farmacologia

R-mephobarbital, un barbiturico, viene usato in combinazione con acetaminofene o aspirina e caffeina per i suoi effetti sedativi e rilassanti nel trattamento di tensione mal di testa, emicrania e dolore. Barbiturici agiscono come depressivi non selettivi del sistema nervoso centrale (SNC), in grado di produrre tutti i livelli di alterazione dell'umore SNC da eccitazione a lieve sedazione, l'ipnosi, e coma profondo. In sufficientemente elevato dosi terapeutiche, i barbiturici inducono anestesia.
