FIRE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
Use water, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide to
extinguish fires.
FIRE CONTROL TACTICS:
Wear self-contained, positive pressure breathing apparatus
and full fire fighting protective clothing.
Keep unnecessary people away. Use as little water as
possible. Dike area of fire to prevent run-off. Use
spray or fog - solid stream may cause spreading.
Do not decontaminate personnel or equipment or handle
broken packages or containers without protective equipment
as specified in the Exposure Control Section.
Avoid breathing dusts, vapors and fumes from burning
materials. Control run-off water - if water enters a
drainage system, advise the authorities downstream.

HEALTH HAZARD TOXICITY DATA AND
INFORMATION EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE:
ACUTE TOXICITY DATA:
There is no toxicity data on this particular formulation.
The information provided below refers to the 80%

diethylene glycol monobutyl ether content in the
formulation.
Glycol ethers as a class are not normally acutely
hazardous by the oral route. However, glycol ethers,
particularly the ethylene series in high vapor
concentrations are sometimes lethal. In addition, the
ethylene series have recently been shown to have the
potential to induce reproductive toxicity in a number of
animal studies.
The acute oral LD<50> of DGBE in rats has been shown to
range between 5.7-6.6 g/kg indicating that the material is
practically non-toxic by single oral administration.
The acute dermal LD<50> in rabbits has been reported at
4.0 g/kg. indicating the material is practically non-toxic
by single skin application.
The material is moderately irritating to the eyes and is
slightly irritating to the skin.
EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
: Drink two large glasses of water. Induce
vomiting by touching the back of the throat with fingers.
Do not give liquids or induce vomiting if patient is
unconscious.
: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water
for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids open. Get
medical attention if irritation persists.
: Wash skin with plenty of soap and water.
Get medical attention if irritation persists.
: Remove subject to fresh air and provide
oxygen, if breathing is difficult. Get medical attention.
NOTES TO PHYSICIAN:
Atropine and other anticholinergic drugs are only
partially effective as antidotes. The use of a ganglionic
blocking agent may be required to treat severe
intoxication with arrhythmias and respiratory
difficulties. If flaccid paralysis occurs, drugs are
useless and respiratory assistance should be given while
the drug is metabolized.
A preparation for humans, mecamylamine (Iversine, Merck)
is the ganglionic blocker of choice. It should be given
subcutaneously starting at 1 to 2 mg to effect. Diazepam
has been used as an effective antidote in experimental
animals.

MEDICAL CONDITION AGGRAVATED BY OVEREXPOSURE:
A knowledge of the available toxicology information and of
the physical and chemical properties of the material
suggests that overexposure is unlikely to aggravate
existing medical conditions.
_______________________________________________________________________________
EXPOSURE During formulation of this product, the following good
CONTROL METHODS industrial hygiene practice is recommended:
Provide adequate local ventilation and maintain a
Permissible Exposure Limit below the level recommended for
the various components of the product. If vapor levels
exceed the recommended PEL, an approved pesticide
respirator should be worn until engineering controls are
achieved.
Chemical goggles or some other form of eye protection
should be worn to prevent exposure to the eyes. Wear
rubber gloves when handling this material. An apron or
impermeable covering should be worn where splashing could
occur.
Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.
Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.
For end-users, please refer to the product label for
personal protective clothing/equipment.
_______________________________________________________________________________
SPILL OR LEAK Wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment (see
PROCEDURES "Exposure Control" section), dike spill area to prevent
product release, absorb with an inert absorbent material,
(e.g. granular clay or sawdust), and shovel/sweep into
covered containers for proper disposal (see "Waste
Disposal" section). Small spills to the soil can be
shoveled directly into disposal containers. In the event
of a large spill, contact Cyanamid for guidance on
available clean-up options.
____________________________________________________________________________
WASTE DISPOSAL: To avoid disposal, all attempts should be
made to utilize the product completely, in
accordance with its intended and/or
registered use. If this is not possible,
follow all applicable Federal, State,
Provincial and Local regulations regarding
waste management methods.
